This page is the "junk drawer" I'm using to store interesting or useful (in the best circumstances, both) items I've found or received from interesting people.
For now, I'll be adding links and bits about different subjects. Some will be about good government, some about green living and green business, some just things I'd like to share with you.
Enjoy!

MY NEW FAVORITE RECIPES
Seriously Good Improvisational Chocolates
found at The Splendid Table from Sally Schneider, author of The Improvisational Cook (William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, 2006.)
This is basically "melt chocolate, spread it out and scatter yummy things on top, then cut or break it apart" - so simple, and quick, but the idea of sprinkling herbs or spices onto all kinds of other embellishments is new to me. I made the first batch with semi-sweet chocolate, dried tart cherries, chopped toasted blanched almonds and...wait for it...Lavender. You have to make sure to use culinary lavender, which you can get from Daybreak Lavender Farm, or for sure organically grown, non-sprayed flower buds. I crushed dried buds as I was sprinkling them over the chocolate. Not too much. I can't wait to try it with other combinations of herbs and crunchies.
